As co-founder of Los Angeles-based record label, event production brand, and all around creative collective, Understated, and Understated Recordings. DJ/producer Monsieur Frazier has risen through the ranks of the LA scene and has made it full circle as a staple within the underground. 

A curator in every sense, Frazier has devoted himself to fostering and furthering the Los Angeles underground dance music community that has helped to shape his passions. Starting off as 1/2 of Deep House duo Sunset Groove with fellow Understated founder Micah Smith, he now heads A&R for his indie imprint and has played at some of LA’s most pivotal clubs, and venues. Such as Sound Nightclub, Exchange, Avalon, Couture, Skybar, The Standard Rooftop DTLA, The Regent Theater, as well as a Catalina Express cruise ship, where he supported Goldroom on his highly acclaimed annual High Seas Boat Tour. One of many high-profile acts Frazier has supported while during their stop in LA. 

Through his unwavering passion for the traditionalist sounds of Chicago House, New York Garage, and Deep House, as well as Detroit Techno, and early UK House Music and Garage music. Along with a heavy influence of Parliament Funkadelic, Disco, the funky West Coast Hip Hop of his homeland, and the jazzy, and smooth, but equally hardcore and gritty boom-bap beats of 90’s East Coast Hip Hop he spent his teenage years listening to, as well the contemporary R&B and soul played music played by his mother. Frazier’s versatility as a selector is unparalleled. By adding a modern edge to his traditionalist sound, he carries his crowd seamlessly through a blend of funky grooves, complex rhythms, beautiful melodic jazzy tones, and chords with just enough emotion, as well as an all-around steady beat that will keep you on the dance floor for the entire night. It is safe to say that Frazier has figured out a winning formula that he earned him the overwhelming support of his contemporaries, and peers alike.
